Dried coconuts are suitable for the hot pressing method, while fresh coconuts are suitable for the cold pressing method, mainly due to their different water content and oil release characteristics.

  Dried coconut refers to the coconut pulp that has been stripped of water and dried. Because the water in the dried coconut has been removed, the flesh is relatively dry. In hot pressing, heat is applied to release the oil from the dried coconut flesh more easily. High temperature heating helps to change the structure of the coconut flesh, making it easier for the fat to flow out and facilitating the extraction of coconut oil. In addition, the heating process also kills bacteria and microorganisms that may be present in the dried coconut, ensuring the hygienic quality of the coconut oil.

In contrast, fresh coconuts have a higher water content and relatively moist flesh. Cold pressing is suitable for the treatment of fresh coconut because it does not use high temperature heating or chemical treatment and retains the natural flavor and nutrients of coconut oil. In the cold press process, the fresh coconut pulp is extracted to extract the coconut pulp, and then the oil is extracted by separating and precipitation. This process does not use high temperatures to preserve the natural aroma, nutritional value and antioxidant properties of coconut oil.
